Moving on...

Changes are upon us.  The Stars didn't make it into the play-offs, so we are transferring our attention to the Rangers.  They beat the White Sox last night 5-0.  Great game! Moving on!

And in other news, we have accepted an unsoliscited offer on our Jefferson River Ranch in Montana.  We always said that if we got an offer we could not refuse, it would be time to move on.  So we are.  Time to start looking for a new place.  For the short run we think we will buy a town home in Bozeman as a landing pad to begin our search for a new property.  The search may take awhile, and we think having a place in town will be really fun for awhile.

We will miss this place, but it's time to be moving on...

Fresh starts, new beginnings, more adventures, and a place to make new memories.  Life is full of twists and turns.  Thankfully, they have been fun ones.

Blue Bonnets

It is so pretty here in Texas this time of year.
It will get hot before we know it,but in the meantime, we are enjoying every minute of this.

We are having so much fun attending the Dallas Stars hockey games.  As Lefty likes to say, it's tough being a fan.  When your team handily wins, it's great, but when they go to shoot outs, it's tense.  (And just plain painful when they lose.) They pulled it off last night and we are looking forward to two more home games this week;  one Thursday night and another on Saturday afternoon.  Who knows what else there will be time to squeeze in?  I am sure my hubby hopes it is some dusting and vacuuming.  And since it is almost summertime here in the big D, it's time to get back to Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.

New York City!

What a fast and furious weekend.  But was it ever fun!

I got a wee bit worried when we got to DFW and realized our flight was delayed and Dean was feeling "under the weather", but thankfully the flight WAS delayed as it allowed Z to go home and get her phone and allowed Dean a little time to feel better.

I wish I had taken a picture of our limo that took us to the hotel.  We had a blast all hopping in together to start our weekend festivities.

The big event was the Allman Brothers Band on Saturday night and we wanted to stay close to the Beacon Theater and found a great spot at the On the Ave hotel.  Right around  77th and Broadway.  We went out on Friday night and grabbed some dinner at Scaletta's and then we hopped in cabs to head down to the Highline Ballroom to hear Leroy Justice and Bobby Keys.  Great music!  Lots of fun.  Stopped at a place close to the hotel for a "night cap" and called it a night.

Saturday morning we found a great restaurant a couple of blocks from the hotel called the Viand Cafe.  It was so good that we went back there on Sunday before the "kids" took off  for the airport.  After breakfast on Saturday, we went down to Rockefeller Center and went to the "top of the Rock" observation deck.  (Not Dean's favorite part of our trip.)  Then we went down to The Museum of Modern Art and saw lots of famous and beautiful paintings and sculpture.  Before we went to the ABB Concert, we grabbed some sushi and then we were off to the Beacon Theater.  It did not disappoint!  Amazing experience.  There was a great little bar/ restaurant right next to the hotel, so we grabbed a late night snack, etc.

Sunday morning came WAY to quickly  thanks to Daylight Savings, but we all survived...one of our favorite weekends with our adult "kids" plus Laura and Patrick.  We are blessed that our kids like some of the same music that we do and doubly blessed that they like to go off on adventures with us.

What a different week this is!

Last week we watched this little man while his parents went on a little vacation somewhere sunny!
We took him on walks, to Bass Pro Shop, and to the Stars hockey game.  We also spent a good bit of time watching him run circles around us.  He isn't quite two yet, but he sure can move quickly.  It was great fun practicing being grandparents.

And this week, it's no more of this....
Louise and I are giving up sweets for Lent.  40 Days and counting!

The whole 40 day thing reminded me of when our church back in NC did the Purpose Driven Life study by Rick Warren and I decided that in addition to giving up something...sweets; I would also add in something extra for 40 days.  I am going to spend the next 40 days re-reading The Purpose Driven Life.  It will be interesting to look back at my comments and see what jumps out at me this time around.  Here I go...

Napa - One of my favorite places.

In January we met some of Steve's Phytel team and their spouses in Napa.  It was a short weekend, but that's not a bad thing when most of the itinerary is wine tastings.  We really enjoyed ourselves and it was nice to enjoy the beautiful weather.  Years ago when we were there in January, it rained every day, so this was really a treat.
Here are a few pictures.

.Napa is such a special place.  I don't think I will ever get tired of going here.

Here's a glimpse...

After meeting up with 6 other college friend couples in Miami, we set sail on Norwegian Sky for a 4 night/3day adventure in the Bahamas.  We saw Freeport, Nassau, and the private island that Norwegian cruise lines owns.  That was our favorite stop as it was the only place that we were not bombarded by "solicitors".  I don't know about you, but I do not need one more beaded necklace, scarf, t-shirt or shells.

We had such a blast with our friends.  We laughed so hard we cried and even hit the dance floor on board a couple of different nights.

The length of the cruise was just about right for all of us as most of us prefer the "fly by the seat of our pants" type vacation, but so glad we did this at least once.

View from our balcony.

This was just a fellow cruiser that wore white socks instead of sandals.  Hmmmm......
